If there was a conveyor belt of driving superstars it would definitely be born outta some German warehouse. Mind you history will tell you that a Finnish family tree ain’t a bad blood stock either. The year of 1985 rolled out another future racing ace by the name of Nico Rosberg. Born of racing pedigree, Nico grew up in Monaco where once a year the F1 circus would come to town and tear the sky open with the piercing screams of the world’s most advanced cars and human engineering.


After a slow start in Australia and Malaysia on the 2012 Formula One tour Rosberg exploded for the first pole position of his career at the Chinese Grand Prix, then blazed to his very first F1 victory. Rosberg’s historic win for the Mercedes marque was the first since F1 legend Juan Manuel Fangio won the 1955 Italian Grand Prix. He also became the first driver of German heritage to win in an F1 race in a German auto since the 1939 Swiss Grand Prix. Rosberg’s 93 F1 points in 2012 put him in the top ten (9th) overall. He will again race for Mercedes in 2013.
