Greg finished 2nd on the night behind hometown hero Freddie Lindgren and he was joined on the box by Aussie Champion Chris Holder, who pushed Greg all the way in 3rd.

On an awe-inspiring stage for racing and in front of 42,000 noisy fans Team CP377 Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Christophe Pourcel was superlative to win the first moto by a massive one and a half minutes despite starting from 20th in the gate.

The track was as much of a character as the riders themselves on this first of two South American flyaways. The dusty conditions on Saturday even caused the riders to group together and sit out the qualification heats.
