Watching this Swiss star on a motorcycle is a pleasure. However Grand Prix fans have missed the sight of Arnaud Tonus whipping his 250cc four-stroke in the past two seasons after some poor luck with injury. A broken wrist (2012) and snapped right leg (2013) means that Tonus is aiming to recuperate plenty of lost time in 2014 and that’s why he could be a real threat to Jeffrey Herlings’ domain in the MX2 division. The 2011 MX2 British Champion served a fast and eye-catching apprenticeship at the highest level earning his first podium in 2010. He has ridden KTM and works Suzuki and Yamaha equipment in the past four years and since he burst onto the GP scene with that delectable style that earned plaudits from ten times world champions Stefan Everts. Tonus seems to have found a secure and supportive home at CLS Monster Energy Kawasaki and although 2013 was a write-off he has already caught the eye with some fast times in 2014 pre-season appearances. Arnaud was only recently rated as a championship candidate and it is up to him to boost that profile once more in 2014.
