With the 1080 triple whip and dozens of other asphalt searing tricks serving as surplus in his well-stocked arsenal of tricks, Mike Spinner, is the first rider in BMX history to ever pull-of the tailwhip 720. Second overall in the Dew Tour BMX Park Dew Cup point standings in 2007 and ‘08, Spinner is a constant threat to earn precious metal at any event he chooses to rip.
Among the true elite in is sport, Spinner, who is forever evolving BMX Park riding with revolutions per minute, is highly regarded by his brothers in balance, especially the great Dave Mirra. ”Some of the stuff he’s doing is stuff that nobody else is doing,” proclaims Mirra. “He’s got a secret we all don’t know, and it’s pretty cool.” At the recent Right Guard Open in the heavy industries town of Cleveland, Ohio, Spinner backed up Mirra’s proprietary knowledge by going out nailing a quadruple tailwhip (read: Miracle Whip) for the first time in a competitive forum. Slamming home yet another example of the Monster Energy pilot’s creativity and mechanics on a bike, it’s not the only thing he has going for him. When Mike the Bike isn’t out challenging the axioms of physics, Spinner is a talented showman and spokesman, as well, comfortably putting time in before the cameras of NBC, MTV, USA and CBS.
