Hard charging Polish off-road racer Krzysztof ‘Holek’ Hołowczyc is a man you just can’t keep down. A huge star and TV personality in his home country, the 51 year old has ripped it up on short stage rallies, as well as dominated the competition in some of the world’s toughest endurance races.

Cutting his teeth in local Polish rallies, Hołowczyc quickly made a name for himself by taking three Polish national rally titles and a European rally championship between 1995 and 1999. Looking for a bigger challenge Hołowczyc then turned his awesome talents to the world stage and endurance racing. After notching up experience in the World Rally Championship and taking on his first Dakar in 2005, success wasn’t far behind.

In the eight years that followed, the Polish racer has won the Baja Poland twice, competed in eight Rally Dakar, won the Silk Way Rally and taken the top step in the FIA International Cup for Cross-Country-Baja’s as well as the FIA International Cup for Cross-Country-Rallies. Off-track Hołowczyc is a big rock and metal music fan, and has made regular appearances and cameos on the small screen.

Proving with his results that he has firmly shrugged off the massive accident in last year’s Dakar which temporarily put him in a wheelchair, Krzysztof Hołowczyc has set his sights on 2014 Dakar glory. Teaming up with six-time Dakar veteran co-driver Konstantin Zhiltsov, ‘Holek’ is more determined than ever to take home the coveted winner’s trophy.
