Intertview with James Woodsy from Monster Energy Fridge Festival
We had a few minutes together with James Woodsy who was competing at Budapest, Hungary´s Monster Energy Fridge festival. Let´s see what´s his feedback from the weekend.
Q: Woodsy it was nice to have you here man, you just left Budapest. How did it go?
A: I had so much fun in Budapest! City big air competitions are always so much fun because you get to perform in front of a huge, stoked crowd and spend some time checking out the city which normally we never get to do because we´re in the mountains – plus Budapest is an awesome city with some amazing historical stuff, I definitely enjoyed checking it out! The Monster Energy Fridge Festival was incredible, so much cool stuff going on right in the middle of town and the guys took really good care of us so such a great environment.
"Budapest is an awesome city with
some amazing historical stuff"
Q: How was the contest for you?
A: In the contest I did a double cork 1260 but actually didn´t have a perfect landing, I skied away but the level of competition is so high now that if its not perfect its not good enough. At least I got to check out the other riders who all skied incredible!
Q: What was it like to perform in Budapest?
A: Like I said above the event was amazing, I love performing in front of a crowd and all the Hungarians were so stoked on the contest! Plus the organisers of the event were truly on it so we (the riders) didn´t have to worry about a thing and just had an amazing time shredding, AND we got to check out some amazing music and other performances throughout the weekend - Thanks guys!
Q: What was your best trick and what was your favourite trick?
A: My best trick was a double cork 1260, and my favourite tricks of the weekend were Elias Ambuhl´s winning tricks; Switch double cork 1080 and double cork 1440 and then Elvis Harsheim´s double cork 1260 so stylish and on a slightly different axis.
Q: Did you have time to check Budapest?
A: Yeah. Budapest city is really cool I actually went exploring one day, checked out a museum and went to see some of the sights of the whole city from the Buda side. Really, really cool to see all the preserved old builds and think about all the history.
"Aaah! Saturday night, what a night."
Q: You guys also had a big party with Monster Energy. Tell us about it.
A: Aaah! Saturday night, what a night. Well basically with it being the after party of an event, run by Monster Energy and Lolo Favre´s birthday, lets just say it went off! Everyone definitely had an amazing time!
Q: Would you come back next year?
A: I would love to, if you´ll have me.
"enjoying skiing, work hard to be the best rider
I can be and do my best in the mayor contests
throughout the year"
Q: Whats the plans for the future?
A: Carry on enjoying skiing, work hard to be the best rider I can be and do my best in the mayor contests throughout the year. Hopefully come back to Budapest Monster Energy Fridge Festival next year and take it down!
Q: Any last words?
A: Thank you for having me, I had a brilliant time and stoked to see you next year! :D
