In late 2009 Monster Energy’s Chaz Davies’ much-talked-about move from American (AMA) road bike racing back to the world’s premier sport bike racing series – the World Supersport Series (WSS) – delivered one of Great Britain’s top young road racers onto the world’s oldest,  most respected most recognizable motorcycle brand: Triumph.In leaving the company he’d been with since the beginning of his career (Aprilia) and moving away from Monster’s global headquarters in southern California, Davies was off to a brave new world. And thus far in 2010 he has certainly excelled.

On fire in the WSS, Davies has locked down his second podium – 3^rd at Kyalami after a 3^rd at Valencia earlier in the summer – and a 4^th place (Utah) finish in his last two races aboard the BE1 Racing Triumph Daytona 675, making up for a rougher-than-expected start on the new bike for him at the formidable and highly-attended race circuits such as Phillip Island, Portimao, Assen and Monza.

“My immediate goals for this season are to bridge that gap to the front 3 guys,” offers Davies. “We are very close at the moment but are missing a few tenths a lap in the early laps. I am desperate to be in the fight for the championship”

With only the curtain-dropping, season-ending Magny Cours, France race left on the 2010 World Supersport Series calendar, Davies is posted up in fourth place in the overall point standings.  Certainly a fine result in one of the most competitive motorcycle racing series on Planet Earth.
