The first ever speedway rider to come out of Brazil, Toninho has the most interesting story of any guy on the GP tour. Born in Rio in 1985, Anton doesn’t even know his birthday because he was found as an abandoned baby on the streets of Brazil. He was taken into care and adopted by the Lindback family, a Swedish couple, and it was in Scandinavia that he discovered his love for the shale. He was propelled into the GP Series in ’05 and was tipped to become a superstar.



As well as possessing ridiculous amounts of talent, Lindback has one of the quirkiest personalities in speedway. He once dyed his afro blonde because “Swedish people have blonde hair” and it’s rare that the barnet isn’t further decorated with a pair of headphones.


Like most adrenaline junkies, Tonio likes a good time but his career went off the rails in 2007 when he retired from the sport completely after losing his passion, instead taking up a career in Freestyle Skiing. Although he was successful on the slopes, Lindback couldn´t stay away from the shale and returned a year later with his personal demons behind him and ready to show the world what he could do. A permanent member of the SGP tour once again in 2012, Anton will be looking to showcase his awesome talent on the biggest stage of all.
