Axl Rose is the founding member of Guns N’ Roses and a rock n’ roll legend who defies words or category.
DJ Ashba was announced on March 23rd, 2009 as the new lead guitarist of Guns N´ Roses. As the final piece of an elaborate rock n’ roll puzzle, Ashba declared ‘It´s an honor to have the opportunity to be a part of a band that I have always loved and respected.’
Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal made his live debut with Guns N’ Roses at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on May 12, 2006. The virtuoso guitarist also performs on Chinese Democracy. Arguably one of the best guitarists in the world, few players can match his technical proficiency and skill.
Richard Fortus joined Guns N’ Roses in the summer of 2002. During his audition, Fortus warmed up to the Rolling Stones’ “Stray Cat Blues” and essentially had the gig before even performing a GN’R song. Bassist Tommy Stinson recommended Fortus for the gig and Fortus and Ferrer have been in several successful bands together so in a way, life in GN’R is somehow all connected.
Tommy Stinson replaced Duff McKagan as the bassist in Guns N’ Roses in 1998 and has been extremely instrumental in the band’s forward progress and continued success. He learned how to play the bass at the ripe age of 11 and soon afterwards joined American punk rock heroes, The Replacements. Sometimes he misbehaves.
Frank Ferrer became an official member of Guns N´ Roses in October 2006 after filling in for drummer Bryan Mantia during the band´s European tour. Along with guitarist Richard Fortus, Ferrer is a former member of The Psychedelic Furs, Love Spit Love, and Honky Toast. Ferrer recorded a portion of the drum parts for the album Chinese Democracy. He has no middle name.
Chris Pitman joined Guns N´ Roses in 1998 as the band´s second keyboardist. He made his GN’R recording debut on the single "Oh My God" and performed on Chinese Democracy. On the record Pitman plays mostly keyboards and sub-bass as well as programming and background vocals. Pitman has performed live with Guns N´ Roses since January 2001.
Dizzy Reed has played, toured and recorded as a member of Guns n’ Roses since 1990. Aside from Axl Rose, Reed is the longest standing and only member of Guns N´ Roses to remain from the band´s Use Your Illusion era. For Chinese Democracy he co wrote "Street of Dreams", "There Was a Time,""I.R.S" as well as the single "Oh My God.”
