Torgie Bergrem

Hailing from the northern outpost of Trondheim, Norway, 20-year old Torgeir Bergrem grew up riding at the nearby ski hill Vassfjellet, an unlikely little resort that has recently been turning out next-level snowboard talent. Torgeir has spent that last few years establishing himself as a serious contender on the international slopestyle and big air circuits. By winning contests like the Pleasure Jam in 2009, the Sweet Rumble at Trysil in 2010, and taking 1st in the Rookie Challenge at the Innsbruck Air & Style in 2011, Torgeir broke out of the European bubble, setting himself squarely on the path to global recognition. Yet despite the focus and demanding schedule needed for putting down podium performances, Torgeir has been able to offset the contest grind with filming. In ’09 he appeared alongside Scandinavia’s best up-and-comers in I’m Here Out There. For 2012, Tor got in on the fun filming for Nitro Snowboards’ Hyped! Now splitting his time between Norway and the park-riding mecca of Colorado, Torgeir continues to transition from Scandinavian upstart to global go-getter. When he’s not out playing in the snow, he can be found inside playing guitar. He’s been playing since the age of six, so you can bet he shreds that, too.
