Turning 40 in 2012 didn’t slow Abbott down in the least. The hard-chargin’ off-road vet hammered it again on the GEICO EnduroCross Series, remaining relevant in the premier Pro class standings while – as always – arriving at the popular U.S. arena-based events as an overwhelming fan favorite. Podium finishes at major events such as the King of Motos/King of Hammers and AMA’s Hare & Hound Series points out that “older” hardly means “slower” for Abbott as he continues to thrash on the up-and-coming off-road daredevils. A win at a 24-hour endurance race in Alabama and an incredible SEVENTH International Six Days Enduro Gold medal for Team USA in Germany were also highlights for Monster Energy’s ‘living legend’ of off-road.
