Monster Energy-backed professional bull rider LJ Jenkins went the distance on four bulls this past weekend at the PBR Built Ford Tough Series round in Pueblo, Colo., and placed 2nd with a score of 343.75. And with the 2nd place effort Jenkins moved up from 3rd place in the overall BFTS standings to 2nd place as the PBR Tour gets set to take a two-month break before returning to action in August.
Jenkins, who pocketed $17,422 for his effort at Pueblo, was pleased with his effort this past weekend – and looks forward to the summer break in order to heal up and come back strong in pursuit of the 2012 PBR BFTS title.
“It feels good to finish strong before the break,” said Jenkins. “I’m pumped to resume the season in August, but it will be good to take some time off physically and mentally.”
Here’s some footage of Jenkins’ ride this weekend on the bull named “Rowdy All Night”:
Joining Jenkins in the top ten from the Monster Army was Robson Palermo, who placed a solid 7th. And just one click outside the top ten was another Monster Energy-backed rider, Guilherme Marchi, who placed 11th. In the overall PBR standings Marchi is right up there in 4th place, followed by Palermo in 16th and Rubens Barbosa in 36th.
