Biggest day of the year thus far for Monster Energy’s inaugural foray into the world of bull riding as M-claw clad bull rider LJ Jenkins held on to the bull dubbed Gunpowder & Lead for the full eight seconds on the day’s final ride, giving Jenkins 1st place overall in the two-day contest at Kansas City’s (Mo.) Sprint Center.

Jenkins was able to put one back on the bull that bucked him off – and cost him the win – the previous weekend in New Mexico and racked up enough style points (91.5 total score) to be awarded his first victory of the season tonight on the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series tour.

In front of a packed crowd Jenkins totaled 268.75 points, the weekend’s top total, and earned a sizable paycheck of $43,650 for his efforts. In addition the first-year Monster Energy athlete moved up two spots in the overall PBR BFTS standings and now ranks in the top five overall on the season.
