4 Wheel Performance

NEWS ARTICLE

Drifting is an 850-horsepower, 400 cubic inch V8-motivated, melted bubble gum tire-form of asphalt ballet. RallyCross is a multi-car field of gravel spitting, sandblasting, sheet metal bending, carbon fiber spitting, suspension collapsing war of wheels. The World Rally Championships sends the world’s most intrepid, skilled and mercurial race cars drivers careening, pell-mell, across, up and over every surface or element conceivable. Monster Energy supports all these men and their 4 Wheel mechanical works of art.

About Vaughn

Drifting around so-to-speak for the past decade, Monster’s lone representative in the sport of sideways, rear tire spinning, smoking, screeching auto competition – aka drifting – started out the ‘10s on a superbly high note with the relatively new motorsport. The Formula Drift round one winner on the Streets of Long Beach had just signed on with Monster and paid some HUGE dividends when he out-maneuvered Red Bull’s best driver for the overall win in the inaugural series’ opening event in front of a massive SoCal crowd.

A former MX rider, Gittin’s worked his way to the top of this somewhat underground sport, enough to become a quite familiar name with the legions of Monster four wheel motorsports fans. Running the all-powerful Monster Energy/Falken Tire/Ford Racing Mustang, Gittin first put his name in lights in 2005 when he won the D1GP USA vs. Japan event – becoming the only American to win that prestigious event, on the asphalt where the sport was actually born. And for good measure Gittin won it again in 2007. A dirt bike racer as well, Gittin joins the Monster Army with all the proper street cred you’d imagine, even if he gets sideways with it!
