In 2001 the YART team (YAMAHA AUSTRIA RACING TEAM) was founded with the aim of contesting the world endurance championship. After just two years the team´s drivers reached their first podium by placing third.
After another podium finish the following year the team achieved a major breakthrough with an overall third place in the 2005 world championship.
In just five years the team had reached the top of the world class.
Since then the multi-cultural cast has never finished lower than third.
In 2006 and 2007 the team finished second overall and in 2009 Gwen Giabbani, Steve Martin und Igor Jerman achieved a masterful first overall title with 4 wins, including the prestigious 24 hours of Le Mans. Currently Mandy Kainz´s Team Monster Yamaha-YART is spearheading the Japanese motorcycle producers challenge in the hard-fought world endurance championship.
