Supercross Round Nine: Daytona Beach, FL

Mar 072022

In what was easily the most thrilling Supercross main event of the 2022 season, history was made when Eli Tomac pulled off some unbelievable late-race heroics, passing defending supercross champion Cooper Webb (KTM) with a little over a lap left in the race, and brought home his unmatched 6th Daytona International Speedway Supercross win – breaking the record (5) previously held by Monster Energy’s Ricky Carmichael.

Rounding out the 450 class podium for Monster Energy was Chase Sexton, with a solid 3rd place effort. Dylan Ferrandis would finish just a click off the podium in 4th. And on the 250s, Monster Energy’s lone racer and co-overall point leader heading into Daytona, Cameron McAdoo staged a powerful race comeback of his own, battling back to a podium 3rd place finish after a rough start.
