Herbert "Herby" Thaler, also known as "the styrian oak", was born in 1986 in Styria/Schladming. He took his first snowboarding lessons against the will of his father when he was 12. This was the beginning of a great career and the "never shredding story". After 9 years of experience in freestyle snowboarding, Herby is perfectly known and still on the top of the Austrian riders.
His saying is, "Style is more than spin to win", and this is exactly what he shows. His certain style still sets the level high.
Some of Herby´s successes were the winnings of the Wängl Tängl Team Battle in 2010 with the team Absolut and the award for the most impressive rider on this weekend and the 3rd place on the spring battle in 2009.
Being on a contest afterparty and not meeting Herby Thaler is out of question. For him the party belongs to the contest - and he really knows how to party hard!
If you ask him about his future perspectives, his answer will be, "I will be shredding till I´m old and grey".
