SPEEDWAY GP SERIES SET UP FOR BIG SECOND HALF

The 2022 FIM Speedway Grand Prix series has reached the halfway stage, and it’s still all to play for as we head into the final five rounds.

The tour kicked off in Gorican, Croatia and has since passed through Warsaw (Poland), Prague (Czech Rep), Teterow (Germany) and Gorzow (Poland) with each event delivering a different winner and no fewer than 11 of the 15 permanent line up scoring podiums so far.

Croatia saw two-time world champ Bartosz Zmarzlik take the W, and it looked as though it may be a year of domination for the current world number two, but he definitely hasn’t had it all his own way.

Aussie Max Fricke took a surprise victory in front of 50,000 fans in Warsaw, where our man Freddie Lindgren came third, before Slovak veteran Martin Vaculik did the same in Prague with triple-world champion Tai Woffinden grabbing silver.

Round four saw the first M-claw on top of the steps with an unbelievable performance from Patryk Dudek, who was unstoppable in topping the score chart and taking home his first GP win since 2018.

He backed that up with a final appearance next time out in Gorzow, where he took fourth place and looked faster than anyone on the night.
