THE BEST WEEKEND IN BMX | RE-LIVE THE BATTLE OF HASTINGS 2022

Sep 172022

The best in BMX assembled at the Source Park, England for the baddest event in the world – the Battle of Hastings. BOH always brings the heat and after 6 years, 2022 was hailed as the best year of the event to date. The venue was packed to the rafters with BMX fans, riders, sport legends, media, and unmatched vibes across 3 days of event broadcasts, which brought the scene together from all corners of the globe to watch it all LIVE!

We had a full line up of heavy hitters on hand, tearing things up right from the jump.

Felix Prangenberg, Kevin Peraza, Lewis Mills, Dan Lacey, Tom Van Den Bogaard, Jordan Godwin and Jose Torres brought their A-game. Blowing minds and racking up some serious points for their respective teams during the stacked weekend of contest rounds.

This year the legend of the BOH Beach Rail Jam was born, a hefty setup built right outside the front door of the Source Park, set behind a classic Hastings seafront backdrop making for one of the best and most progressive rail jams to go down in the BMX history books!

Lewis Mills, Dan Lacey and Jordan Godwin brought a choice selection of burly and tech rail tricks during the 1 hour jam session where there was no shortage of hammers dropped. Make sure to hit the link to re-watch all the Beach Rail Jam madness that went down right HERE.

During the main event, the top 5 qualifying teams battled it out hard in the finals, bodies bruised but all digging deep to find something that’s never been done. A hard feat when the world’s best have all left their mark inside the park. Team Varanyak was certainly stoked to have Kevin Peraza in the fold as he finished off the finals best trick session right on the buzzer with the ultimate mic drop, sending a flair whip over the bowl-to-bowl gap that had the whole venue erupting with stoke immediately after stomping it.

That trick was enough to land team Varanyak in 2nd place at BOH 22 with points accumulated over the weekend. Followed closely in 3rd place was team Jones, aka the Doomed crew, which had Felix Prangenberg and Jordan Godwin on hand ripping the park to pieces. Get a full recap of the explosive finals HERE.

Closing off the weekend in style was the highly coveted annual NORA Cup awards hosted by Our BMX, with the Monster team cleaning up good by taking home multiple awards!

Lewis Mills took Video Part of the Year with his showstopper “Lew is Fiending” part

Felix Prangenberg taking the Readers’ Choice & Street Rider of the Year for the SECOND year running! Felix embodies BMX and it shows.

Kevin Peraza brought home the well-deserved Transition Rider of the Year after consistently killing it the last 12 months. Congrats boys! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year. BMX is alive and kicking!
