With 23 Dakar Rallies under his race suit belt, and the enviable accolade of being one of only a handful of racers on the planet to win the event on both two- and four-wheels, Joan ‘Nani’ Roma sits somewhere between off-road royalty and legend. Nani made his debut on the world’s toughest off road-race in 1996, at the bars of a KTM, and arguably hasn’t looked back since. Factory supported rides and drives with nearly every major manufacturer worth mentioning have yielded a near unmatched racing roll of honor in long-distance, Enduro and off road rallying. Arguably 2017 was his toughest assignment yet. Splitting from the X-Raid team, with whom Nani raced with for five seasons and recorded his 2014 Dakar victory, the 44-year-old Spaniard teamed up with the Belgian based Toyota Overdrive outfit. Proving his mettle in the cockpit yet again, Nani took a new car and new team in his stride, finishing 4th overall after a grueling 8,500km through Latin America. As the Dakar moved on to a new home in Saudi Arabia, so did Nani - racing with Prodrive Bahrain Raid Xtream Team. Proving once again that he was made of the stuff of off-road racing legends, Nani took a nearly untested car and placed it into the points scoring positions at the Dakar in 2020. We are super proud to be part of Nani’s journey, and hope you will stay with us too as we follow this Spanish legend’s race for even more wins and podiums.
