Haven’t heard of Valtteri Bottas before? Well you should have. The 27-year-old Finnish racer from Nastola in southern Finland has been scoring wins and collecting silverware since he first stepped into a racing machine aged six. Titles in Formula Renault Eurocup, Formula Renault 2.0, GP3 as well as the accolade of becoming the first driver in history to win the F3 Masters twice consecutively, landed him a deal into the premier category of F1 in 2013, with Williams Racing. In fact his first team boss, the legendary Sir Frank Williams, described the Finnish young gun as “quite simply one of the most talented young racing drivers I have come across”. It came as no surprise then when Valtteri consistently outgunned his more experienced team mates in both qualifying and overall race pace from the very first wheel turn. This season, a big change is ahead for Valtteri. Locked and loaded into the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Silver Arrow alongside Lewis Hamilton, it’s time to nail the gas and show what he can do with a championship contending machine underneath him.
