CHLOE KIM ON TOP AT LAAX EUROPEAN OPEN 2017

Jan 242017

The Laax European Open brought together snowboarding’s finest for another year of blue skies, sick riding and podiums for the Monster Energy team. The Laax park and Superpipe was shaped to perfection for a weekend of finals that saw the sun shining down on the world’s best as they battled it out for the podiums.

In the ladies’ Superpipe final, Chloe Kim was unbeatable on the day. Chloe took the top spot with her ultimate run, filled with stylish Methods, her huge 1080 and even a cab 720 Stalefish,  earning her serious points on the board and the approval of all the judges. Chloe was stoked on her win: “I'm so happy that I put one run down in the contest. Today was so much fun, everything was perfect, the Halfpipe was perfect and the weather was great!"

Jamie Anderson was firing on all cylinders, but just had a couple of unlucky falls in finals to finish with a strong 3rd. After the event she was still happy with her finish: “I love the park at Laax, it was a really great contest, very progressive and it was fun to be a part of even though I fell on my last 2 runs.”

Iouri Podladtchikov jumped onto the podium in 3rd as well, only just managing to battle fellow countryman Jan Scherrer with his last run to grab the last spot.
