In a fiercely competitive classification overflowing with talent, Joey Savatgy did both himself and the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team proud during the summer of 2015 by racing to third overall in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. In his Trans-American journey, the native Californian hit the podium in six motos and used two runner-up finishes to win the overall at Unadilla. The triumph in the rolling green meadows of Upstate New York was Savatgy’s first career AMA Pro Racing victory as well as the one and only win posted up by the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki race in all of 2015. And so it is now that Savatgy is taking everything he has learned this past year and projecting it upon what will be his program for the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Series. Having placed third in four out of the eight main events run in the ’15 AMA 250SX East Region, Joey wound up fourth overall in the series point standings, visibly getting faster and stronger with each passing race. But that was then and this is now and the 5’ 4”, 153-pound, 21 year-old racer, a racer who now knows he can run with the best of them, is looking for not only wins come the drop of the gate in ’16, but a championship title as well.
