TT2023: HICKY GOES SUPERSONIC IN SUPERSTOCK
Monster Energy FHO Racing BMW rider Peter Hickman smashed records in the Superstock class at this year’s Isle of Man TT.
Monster Energy FHO Racing BMW rider Peter Hickman smashed records in the Superstock class at this year’s Isle of Man TT. Not content with dominating the opening Superstock race on Tuesday 6th June by a convincing 23 second margain, Hicky scorched race two on Friday 9th June to see off rival Michael Dunlop, and take his 11th career victory.
What’s more the 36 year old smashed the outright course record by recording an incredible 136.358mph on his final lap of the race. For context, this was more than six seconds faster than his time set on a fully fledged Superbike during the 2018 Senior TT.
Hickey has also now won five Superstock races in a row, with that run stretching back to 2018. If all that wasn't enough he also set new individual sector records as well as a new race record - with an average speed of 133.676, a time of 50 minutes 48.3 seconds for his three laps.

After the race, Hicky told us: “I’m massively happy for the Monster Energy FHO Racing BMW Team right now - they have been working their asses off for me all week. It hasn't been easy - it never easy, especially when you’ve got Michael Dunlop on the form that he is. Everyone is really pushing the boat out with their performances.
“I’m super happy with how the Superstock bike is performing - it just worked so well from the start; the first lap was steady and then I built it from there. I want to say an extra thankyou to all the fans and crowds all around the circuit - seeing people waving programmes and cheering really spurs us on. It’s a challenging two weeks of racing, and it really spurs us all on!”

Monster Energy FHO Racing Team boss Faye Ho added: “I’m ecstatic with how it is going - he [Hicky] is riding so well, and the team have worked so hard; so to have it come together with a result which is not just a win, but a record in terms of speed and sectors times is incredible. Thankyou again to all the team for their hard work to get us to this point, as well all the sponsors, partners and fans for their continued support!”
Just behind in the three lap race, Michael Dunlop took his 39th TT podium with a second place, ahead of Dean Harrison in third place. TT legend and Monster Energy athlete John McGuinness celebrated a top eight finish just 3.8 seconds behind rival James Hillier.
Just two races remain at the 2023 Isle of Man TT races - with the second Supertwin TT, and the blue riband-event ending 2023 Senior TT on Saturday 10th June. Watch it all live with all live via; https://ttplus.iomttraces.com/.
