





From his roots racing in the Italian CIV Series, half brother of Valentino Rossi, Luca Marini worked his way up to the World Championship in 2016, where he made his debut with the Forward Racing Team. Switching to the Sky Racing Team in 2018, the young Italian impressed, with five podium finishes and a maiden Grand Prix win at Sepang. Despite undergoing surgery during the winter break, Marini put up a fight to finish his 2019 season strong, with two victories in Thailand and Japan. Labelled one of the favourites for the 2020 Moto2™ crown, Marini continued to battle to the end, just missing out on the title and finishing runner-up. Moving up to MotoGP™ in 2021, saw Marini endure a tough introduction to the Premiere class, but with grit and determination in abundance, the Italian continues to impress in 2022.

Into the red zone. The Ducati Lenovo factory team coated MotoGP red in all-out victory – Pole Position, Sprint and Grand Prix – and double trophy glory in Thailand with Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia proving that supremacy counts. Sunlight bounced off the glasses of the Spaniard and the Italian from the plinths of the podium while the cheers of the 99,700 Thai fans rang out at Buriram.

As with the other 39 races and twenty weekends of the season, the Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona saw the stars of MotoGP leave everything on the asphalt. This time it was for the campaign finale.

Britain expected, and MotoGP delivered for a memorable and commemorative Monster Energy British Grand Prix at Silverstone and the halfway point of the 2024 world championship season. Football, Olympics, F1 and now high-paced and relentless motorcycle racing: the sporting landscape got loud, noisy and rapid for an event that toasted 75 years of MotoGP with cool retro liveries and a general celebratory vibe for the scene.
