Loretta Lynn's Championship | Day 1
Monster racers sweep Moto 1 podiums in Open Pro Sport, 250 B & Mini Sr. 2 (13-15) classes at the 42nd annual running of the world’s premier amateur MX event.
And we’re underway at the 42nd running of amateur motocross racing’s most prestigious yearly event – the Monster Energy AMA Amateur Motocross Championship, at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn! Also known simply as, in the dirt bike racing circles, “Loretta’s.”
Building on last summer’s Loretta’s championship that had Monster Energy-backed racers nailing 13 championships, 31 podium finishes and 43 top five positions, Monster Energy premier class Open Pro Sport racers Daxton Bennick (1st), Avery Long (2nd) and Parker Ross (3rd) got things rolling on a high note with a podium sweep in the class that pretty much defines ‘Who’s got next’ in terms of up-and-coming racers – as in next year’s pro riders.
Lots of Monster Energy podium highlights on the opening day…
- Also out of the gate with a bang, in WMX, was Monster Energy’s Kyleigh Stallings, who won the opening moto of that division.
- Another Monster Energy podium sweep would come in the stacked and hotly contested 250 B class as Casey Cochran (1st), Drew Adams (2nd) and Enzo Temmerman (3rd) dominated the rostrum real estate, while Landin Pepperd, Aden Keefer and Krystian Janik rounded out the 4th, 5th and 6th places, respectively, as Monster Energy flat out owned this fast class at Loretta’s in Tuesday’s opening motos.
- In 250 B Limited, Monster Energy racers Leum Oehlof and Jeremy Fappani would go 1-2, in what should be an unreal three moto battle between those two throughout the week.
- 450 B racing had Monster Energy’s Reven Gordon score the lone podium (3rd), with Dilon Blecha close behind in 4th – with two more motos to race later this week.
- In the Mini Sr. 2 (13-15) class, Monster Energy’s Vincent Wey would take the opening moto victory, leading an all-Monster Energy podium sweep that included Jonathan Getz (2nd) and Cole Blecha (3rd).
- And in Mini Sr. 1 (12-14), Getz and Blecha would both podium as well, 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in Moto 1. Wey finished just off the podium in 4th.
- Finally, in 125 Jr. (12-17) B/C racing, Monster Energy’s Tiger Wood stepped up and won the opening moto.
