Loretta Lynn's Championship | Day 2

Published On: 8/3/2023

Monster racers sweep podiums on Wednesday in Supermini 1 (12-15), Schoolboy 2 (12-17) & Mini Sr. 2 (13-15); Bennick’s a perfect 1-1 in Open Pro Sport.

Monster Energy’s top amateur motocross racers (and few blazing fast pros) got back after it on Wednesday’s Day Two of the 42nd running of amateur motocross’ annual get together at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch for the Monster Energy AMA Amateur Motocross Championship.

And picking up right where they left off on the opening day, Wednesday provided equally awesome highlights for the daring young men on their Monster Energy emblazoned flying machines (and helmets).

Here’s a look at Monster Energy Day Two podium highlights @ Loretta’s…

  • Supermini 1 (12-15) was the first of multiple all-Monster Energy podium sweeps as Seth Dennis took top honors in this superfast class, joined on the podium by Deacon Denno in 2nd and Landen Gordon in 3rd.
  • Next up on the Monster Energy podium sweep list was the Schoolboy 2 (12-17) class. There it was Casey Cochran with his second moto win of the week, with Logan Best locking in 2nd place and Krystian Janik placing 3rd. In all, Monster Energy racers grabbed spots 1-7 in this race, with Enzo Temmerman in 4th, Drew Adams (5th), Landin Peppered (6th) and Aden Keefer (7th).
  • Monster Energy racers would nail one more podium sweep, this time in the Mini Sr. 2 (13-15) class with Vincent Wey, son of Michigan MX great Nick Wey, taking top honors, followed by Jonathan Getz in 2nd and Cole Blecha in 3rd on the all-Monster Energy podium.
  • Open Pro Sport led the other classes with individual race winners as Monster Energy’s Daxton Bennick continued to dominate the premier Pro class at Loretta’s, adding a 1st place finish on Wednesday to his opening moto win on Tuesday. Monster Energy’s Gavin Towers would also make Wednesday’s Open Pro Sport podium with a great ride, and now sits in 3rd place overall.
  • Monster Energy racers Jeremy Fappani and Leum Oehlhof continued to dominate the 250 and 450 Limited classes, with Fappani (1st) getting the better of Oehlhof (2nd) in 450 B Limited racing on Wednesday – the inverse of their 1-2 finish in 250 B Limited racing on Tuesday.
  • 250 Pro Sport would have only one Monster Energy racer make the opening moto’s podium in that class on Wednesday, with Gavin Towers running to a 3rd place finish. Solid runs for Monster Energy’s Avery Long (4th), Jayden Clough (5th), Parker Ross (6th) and Jaxton Bennick (7th) with plenty of racing to go to decide the overall in the other Pro class.
  • In Schoolboy 1 (12-17) racing Monster Energy’s Tiger Wood continued to rip, scoring his second moto victory in two tries, adding the Schoolboy 1 win to his 125 Jr. (12-17) B/C class win on Tuesday.
  • And finally, 450 B action saw Dilon Blecha come through with Monster Energy’s lone podium finish in that class, placing 2nd (following a 4th on Tuesday).

Up now… Today’s (Thursday) action features Monster Energy athletes racing: 250 B Limited, Mini Sr. 1 (12-14), 125cc Jr. (12-17) B/C, 250 B, WMX, Supermini 1 (12-15), 450 B Limited, 250 Pro Sport and Schoolboy 1 (12-17).
