Loretta Lynn's Championship | Day 4

Published On: 8/5/2023

Some more weather delays on Friday didn’t hold back the Monster Energy racers in the gate as they dumped the clutch and sent roost all over Loretta’s property.

You know the cool thing about motocross? Rain or shine the show goes on. Not many forms of motorsport can say that. But at the 42nd running of the Monster Energy AMA Amateur Motocross Championship it was business as usual today as Motos 2 (of 3) were sent back out, railing through the soggy conditions as amateur national champions need to be crowned!

Through all of Monster Energy’s highlights on Friday, the one that stands out most is certainly the Schoolboy 2 (13-17) classes second moto. When the goggles were finally cleared the leaderboard showed Monster Energy racers, led by Krystian Janik’s 1st place effort, had taken spots 1st through 6th  – coloring the Moto 2 podium glowing green!

Here’s a look at Monster Energy Day Four podium highlights @ Loretta’s…

  • As previously advertised, Krystian Janik was joined on the winner’s Schoolboy 2 (13-17) stand by Enzo Temmerman (2nd) and Casey Cochran (3rd). And rounding out the top six for Monster Energy were Landin Peppered (4th), Drew Adams (5th) and Logan Best (6th) in this hotly contested class. Tough race, lots of crashes and tip overs.
  • In 450 B action Dilon Blecha raced to a strong 2nd place finish today. And coupled with his 4th place run earlier in the week, Blecha’s 4-2 has him in 2nd place overall in the class.
  • The 250 Pro Sport class saw the return of Daxton Bennick to the podium. Bennick’s 2nd place finish on Friday, a come-from-behind special, moved him up to 3rd place in the standings with a 7-1 two moto score. Gavin Towers also made today’s 450 B podium, placing 3rd and is in 2nd overall (3-3) – giving Monster Energy two on the overall box with one moto remaining.
  • Moving up top after two motos in the Mini Sr. 1 (12-14) class was Monster Energy’s Cole Blecha, who scored a 5th place finish today (to go with a 1st earlier this week). Blecha sits in 1st place overall with a 3-5 score. Monster Energy’s Carson Wood would make the podium today in 2nd place, and moved up to 3rd overall in the class with an 8-2 two moto score.
  • Taking the overall lead with a Moto 2 win in the 450 B Limited class today was Monster Energy’s Leum Oehlhof. Oehlhof took advantage of Moto 1 winner, Monster Energy’s Jeremy Fappani’s 8th place finish today (crash, leg stuck under bike for a bit). And despite the rough finish, Fappani is still in 3rd place overall (1-8).
  • Monster Energy’s Deacon Denno was victorious today in the Supermini 2 (13-16) class, winning by 21 seconds over fellow Monster Energy pilot Landen Gordon (2nd). Gordon remains in 1st place overall (1-2) with Dennon in 2nd (5-1).

Up next… ) Saturday’s action features Monster Energy athletes racing: WMX, Supermini 1 (12-15), 450 B Limited, Schoolboy 1 (12-17), Open Pro Sport, Schoolboy 2 (12-17) and Supermini 2 (13-16) – along with any other classes they weren’t able to squeeze in on Friday following monsterenergy.com press deadline.
