For round six MX Nationals South Africa returns to Holeshot Harrie's in Harrismith. This small town is home to what has fast become a favourite track for competitors and the club pulls out all the stops when hosting the championship.
With only two rounds to go, the question on everyone’s minds will be if any of the championships will be wrapped up at this event. There are some big leads in several classes but not enough to guarantee anything at this stage. There will be a lot on the line going into this round and that guarantee’s once again that spectators are in for some incredible racing.
In the both the MX1 and MX2 classes there is a straight out dice between the factory teams and their riders Red Bull KTM’s Kerim Fitz-Gerald, Husqvarna Racing’s Richard van der Westhuizen and both the Monster Monster Energy Tintswalo Out of Africa Yamaha riders Tristan Purdon in MX1 and David Goosen in MX1 and MX2. Grainger Racing’s Damon Strydom is also still in with a fight in both classes as well so anything can happen in Harrismith.
For the third year Monster Energy and TRP Distributors bring us the South African National Motocross Championship. Along with them are sponsors Thor, Brigestone, Gaerne, FMF, Motul, EVS, Just 1 Helmets, Fly Racing, 100%, DC Shoes and Pac-rite.
In addition to these we have great partners joining us again namely Racestar Graffix and Sunoco Race Shop.
The race takes place on 2nd September at Holeshot Harrie's in Harrismith, Free State. Practice kicks off at 8am with racing taking place from 10am. Entrance is R60 per adult and free for kids of 12 years and younger.
The Championship is sanctioned by Motorsport South Africa (MSA) and brought to you by Motocross South Africa (MX SA).
