Copenhagen’s Rune Glifberg has earned his reputation as skateboarding’s Great Dane. The accomplished skateboarder turned pro in 1992 at just seventeen years old, and went on to enter an astounding number of contests over the next three decades (Glifberg has the notable distinction of being the first pro skateboarder to participate in the X Games 21 years in a row). In 2019, he kept up the pace with a string of incredible finishes in several competitions, including second-place at the Vans Combi Pool Party Masters Finals. Glifberg’s longevity in skateboarding is an inspiration, and we all aspire to be like him. And, thankfully, we can: as one of the original playable characters in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, we can still live vicariously through him.
