Monster Music's Top Livestream Concerts of 2020

2020 was a year of many things. It was the year we learned just how many things you can get delivered to your home. It was the year we all became phenomenal (or not!) home cooks and bartenders. It was the year of business-up-top, pajama-pants-below Zoom meetings. It was the year of dance challenges, bread baking, and DIY haircuts.

But most of all, 2020 was the year of the livestream.

At first, they kicked off as impromptu Facebook Live or Instagram Live performances that took place in artists’ living rooms. As the weeks and months went on, livestream performances exploded into full digital concert experiences…and no one elevated the experience more than Monster Energy Music with events like Monster Energy Outbreak Tour: LIVE ON LOCATION and The Up & Up Welcome Back Virtual Festival.

Here are some of our favorite livestream experiences to emerge from one of the strangest years ever…

03/31 YUNG PINCH - LIVE BACKYARD CONCERT

California rapper Yung Pinch rode the wave of livestream concerts early on, taking to his backyard to deliver a tropical-themed set that included favorites from “Beach Ballin’” to “Looking 4 Existence.”

04/11 COLE SWINDELL - LIVE ON FACEBOOK

Country star Cole Swindell and his band took to Facebook for a truly fun live performance party where they played, told stories, and chatted with fans.

04/11 MARTIN GARRIXX - LIVE @ MY ROOFTOP IN AMSTERDAM


DJ Martin Garrixx missed being on tour, but that didn’t prevent him from connecting with fans. In April, he treated them to a stunning sunset livestream from his rooftop in Amsterdam.

04/25 BREATHE CAROLINA - MIDDLELANDS VIRTUAL RAVE-A-THON

With in-person raves temporarily paused, Tommy Cooperman of EDM superstar duo Breathe Carolina brought it straight to everyone’s quarantine castle for the Middlelands Virtual Rave-A-Thon.

05/16 DIPLO & DILLON FRANCIS - CORONIGHT FEVER B2B
 

Lockdown didn’t slow Diplo down one bit. He performed for his fans almost daily, joining forces with Dillon Francis for totally trippy 2-hour Coronight Fever sets.

05/29-06/14 IANN DIOR - LIVE ON LOCATION: LIVE FROM THE ROOFTOP

 

Monster Energy Outbreak Presents: LIVE ON LOCATION took the livestream experience to a whole new level with sets from artists like DaniLeigh, Curtis Roach, Rico Nasty, Shoreline Mafia, and more coming to fans from the garage, the studio, and a variety of other locations. As part of the series, rapper Iann Dior brought a slick set performed Live From the Rooftop including a cameo from our very own Travis Barker on "Sick And Tired". 10/11 SAN HOLO: MONSTER ENERGY UP & UP WELCOME BACK VIRTUAL FESTIVAL

Monster Energy jumped into the world livestreams hard, bringing San Holo and other top EDM artists including NGHTMRE, Ghastly, and Ekali to the college crowd and beyond for the Monster Energy Up & Up Virtual Welcome Back Festival.

10/24 LUKE COMBS - FULL BAND LIVESTREAM

Grammy-nominated country singer Luke Combs came together with his full band for a phenomenal livestream debut of all five of the songs on his new album, What You See Is What You Get.

10/30 BILLIE EILISH - YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN LIVESTREAM

 

Pop superstar Billie Eilish used the livestream stage as an audio visual playground for her powerful "You Should See Me In A Crown" livestream.

12/11 TECH N9NE - STRANGE MUSIC SESSIONS AT STRANGELAND SOUNDSTAGE

Record-breaking hip hop mainstay Tech N9ne and a lineup of special guests took to the stage for an explosive Strange Music livestream, leaving fans’ jaws on the floor.
