Pol Espargaro

This 23-year-old from Barcelona really does have the world at his feet and Pol takes his place in the Monster Energy Yamaha Tech 3 team for 2015 after an awesome run since he burst onto the scene.

In 2006 Pol got a call-up to the Campetella Racing team in the 125cc world championship due to injury and took part in the last six races - becoming the youngest racer to ever score a GP point at the age of 15 years and 8 days.

He got a permanent spot with the team in 2007 and he showed his huge potential with a 9th placed finish, which he matched in 2008 - but the following year he took a huge leap by winning two races and stood on the box a further five times on his way to finishing 4th.

He improved on that yet again in ’10 and incredibly, he got 12 podiums and three wins out of 17 races and that meant that a move to Moto 2 was just around the corner.

After a good first year in 2011 Pol’s reputation sky-rocketed the next season when be blasted his way through the standings to finish 2nd, narrowly missing out on the overall championship. He went one better in 2013, dominating the series in awesome style to take the Moto 2 title at the age of 22.

2014 saw him don the Tech-3 colours for the first time and he enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in the big league - rarely falling out of the top eight all year and ending the season in 6th place.

The likeable Spanish speedster is only going to get better with age and he’s set for a huge 2015.
