The Monster Energy racers that get it done in the desert are in Ensenada, Mexico, this weekend for Round 3 of the four-round 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship. The Baja 400, presented by VP Racing Fuels – with Monster Energy being the event’s official energy drink.
Leading the Monster Energy assault on Baja will be Cameron Steele, who’s burning the candle at all three ends this week, including double duty – racing his No. 16 Desert Assassins Monster Energy Ford Raptor and handling the intro announcing for the ESPN2 broadcast. The race will be televised on a delayed basis as a one-hour special on the ESPN2 World of X Games programming. It’s scheduled to first air at 9 p.m. (PT) on Sunday, Nov. 6.
The lone Monster Energy-backed racer coming into the Baja 400 with a point lead (or in this case, tied for the lead) is Justin Lambert (PRO UTV FI/Forced Induction). Lambert is tied for 1st place in the division with Edgar Garcia Leon with 229 points, having won the opening 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship round in San Filipe, then finishing 14th in the Baja 500.
