Felix Prangenberg Clinches Silver in BMX Street on Day 3 of X Games 2022

The medal-winning run continues! On day three of X Games 2022, German team rider and trick innovator Felix Prangenberg took home the silver medal in BMX Street with a perfect run at the California Training Facility (CA|TF) in Vista, California.

Friday’s silver medal brings the Monster Energy team’s X Games 2022 medal count to 10 Medals: 3 gold, 6 silver, and 1 bronze. And we have two more days to go!

BMX Street

On Friday, the California Training Facility (CA|TF) in Vista, official training grounds for U.S. Olympic teams in BMX and Skate, provided the backdrop for the BMX Street final. The rectangular street course was lined by a 4-foot quarterpipe and stacked with a Euro gap, several eight-stair handrails, wallrides, banks, bump-to-rail features, stairs, and Hubba ledges.

Known as one of the pacesetters of BMX progression, Prangenberg came to X Games 2022 after recently taking second place at Simple Session in Europe. With his penchant for tech combos and difficult fakie landings, the German BMX pro had the right bag of tricks for the technical course.

In his first run, Prangenberg secured his podium spot by putting down a video part-worthy peg grind up the 8-stair rail to 360 tailwhip off, 360 to fakie on the quarterpipe, Cab 360 off the platform, nose bonk the quarterpipe, 180 lookback the stair set, peg grind 180 the long rail, ice pick grind the big rail, and opposite 360 off the stage for the silver medal.

And just like that, Prangenberg now owns four X Games Medals: 1 gold, 3 silver. In 2021, the German team rider stoked audiences with his Monster Energy-produced ‘Urge’ video part.
