Where’s been your favorite place to surf this year?
Definitely J-Bay. It’s perfect.
We recently caught up with Filipe Toledo—hot off a victory at J-Bay and just before he’s set to take the waves of Huntington at the Vans U.S. Open. This young surfer has had a killer year. The last stop of the World Surf League Championship Tour stands as the definite highlight—with those perfect 10s and that back-to-back alley oop! But Filipe’s success comes as no surprise; surfing runs deep in the Toledo blood.
So, we had to ask what’s got him stoked this year, and maybe steal a surfing secret or two while we’re at it. Be sure not to miss out on the Vans U.S. Open this week, and see if the reigning champ snags a third victory. Thanks Filipe for the chat, and good luck!

That is a hard question to answer…all the surfers are really good, so anyone that I compete against will be hard and really fun!
