Returning to glory after an incredible year racing on the Enduro World Series, Sam Hill has once again dominated the field and retains his World Champion title in 2018. We caught up with him in Vinale, Italy during his World Champion race and ran through what makes the best bike in the world.
"I'm currently riding a 2018 Nuke Proof Mega C - The C stands for Carbon.
The front triangle is Carbon, with 180mm of front fork travel the back end is aluminium with 165mm rear travel.
And, of course, we’ve got some stickers on there saying ‘Graves’ 53’ which is for our buddy Jared Graves, who is kicking cancer’s ass right now!"
"On to the components I'm riding Mavic Wheels, Michelin Tyres for their durability and grip.
A complete Nukeproof cockpit. – Along with aluminium bars and a Nukeproof 50mm Stem. Nukeproof sample grips, which are only 5 Durometer, which is super soft."
"I ride SRAM Code brakes with 200m rotors for that extra stopping power- to help when you’re fatigued, not having to put as much effort into breaking as they would if you had smaller or lighter brakes.
A SRAM X01 Eagle Drivetrain – range that will cover everything from climbing up something similar to a brick wall and charging down the biggest of mountains!"
"As always, we’ve got flat pedals on there" - Sam is one of the only guys that rides flats in the World Series.
"We’ve got a custom paint job in the ‘Dia de los muertos’ style, hand-painted in the UK and we’ve got some matching Fork and Shock graphics from RockShox, it’s my favourite one yet"
