Anthrax recently tore their way through LA, the walls of the Wiltern Theatre are still shaking! The full headline set was packed full of Anthrax classics like Among The Living, Caught in a Mosh, Indians and a very nice cover of S.O.D.’s March Of S.O.D., as well as hits from the latest album, For All Kings.
The highlight of the night however, was when they brought out guest keyboardist Fred Mandel (Alice Cooper, Queen) to perform Kansas’ classic “Carry On My Wayward Son”. Mandel had previously recorded keys to Anthrax’s Carry On My Wayward Son cover as bonus track featured on the expanded vinyl edition of the For All Kings LP. Charlie Benante had long been a fan of the Kansas track, and frequently drummed to it as a teen. "I had to go back into the hard drive of my brain and remember how to play the song. We wanted to do it justice," he said. This was the first time the band had ever performed the cover live.
