Are you ready for World RX 2016?

If the last two years of this groundbreaking championship have been anything to go by, then it’s set to be another incredible season. An awesome mix of new and established drivers are set to go wheel-to-wheel over 12 rounds stretching across the globe from Argentina to Latvia.

So you can get the holeshot over the competition, we figured there would be no better way to intro the action, than a quick round up of the headline facts. Let’s start with the venues. From the forests of Sweden, to the black top in Barcelona, and the home of rallycross in the UK. This season features 12 unique host venues; each testing teams and drivers to the absolute limit. The racing starts off with its now trademark high-altitude season opener in Montalegre, Portugal. Rounds two-three and four follow quickly afterwards, with a DTM hosted race at Hockenheim, a dirt dash in Mettet, Belgium, and then a visit to the spiritual home of rallycross at Lydden Hill for the World RX of Great Britain on the 28th May.

A double header of Scandinavian rounds then kicks off on the 10th June, with a visit to Hell, in Norway, and then the 45,000-spectator summer blowout in Höljes, deep in the Värmland forests at the World RX of Sweden. At the halfway marker of the series it’s time to cross the Atlantic for round seven and a visit to Trois Riviers, in Canada, for the incredible GP3R motorsports festival on the 5th of August.

The 65,000 fan strong World RX of France marks the end of the summer break on the 2nd September, with a further three intense events in Barcelona, Latvia – the newest circuit on the calendar – and Germany before the season finale in Rosario, Argentina.

If that wasn’t enough Finnish rally star Riku Tahko, and Polish Dakar racer Krzysztof Hołowczyc will be shredding Supercars in the five round European championship, which takes place alongside selected World RX events.
