Champions of first Unior Downhill Cup crowned at Mariborsko Pohorje

Monika, currently sitting on 10th position at UCI rankings, showed solid performance through semi finals and finals and after great EC and WC results secured herself an overall title at home. Spela Horvat (KK Jastrebarsko) got 2nd and Katarina PrimožiC (BATT Team) got 3rd.

Jure Zabjek, also 10th at UCI rankings had a bit more stressful day. In semi finals Zabjek fell after notorius Rokenrol section and ended up without a single point. The fastest guy on the track was his team mate Ziga Pandur. He took couple of points away from Miran Vauh (KK Crn trn), who was chasing Jure in overall standings.

Zabjek started finals with remarkable run on a dry hence rather faster track and beat best times of Vauh and Pandur from semi finals for almost nine seconds. It was all on Vauh, whose run, unfortunately for him, wasn't even close to the one in semis, what got him only 5th place. Pandur came with 4 seconds closest to Zabjek and that was enough for silver as well as for 3rd place in overall after bumping Jan Cimperman (MTB Trbovlje) on 4th.

The autumn has arrived and we had a really hot ender at Bike Park Pohorje. Now it's time for winter activities and let these girls and boys get some time off, before kickin' in the next spring;)
