Charity Jam X: BMX contest for good cause

Jul 232019

The 10th anniversary of the Charity Jam charity freestyle BMX race held in the Bikepark in Brumov-Bylnice collected a record breaking sum of 533 010 CZK to support disabled people. This amount was divided between six people (4 children and 2 young women) with a difficult life fate and will help them with the financing of medical devices and pricy rehabilitations that are not paid by health insurance companies.

For the first time, the 10th year was organised as two-day event and the Friday included training and qualification. Each rider got the most out of himself. It was obvious that the desire to advance to the Saturday finals was huge, which was well appreciated by the applause and the overall great atmosphere.

Everyone was excited for Saturday's program, which included final runs as well as announcement of the result of public collection established by the Zlín Regional Authority. Every year the riders compete, who shows the best performance and this year it was no different. We were witnessing some pretty sick tricks that left some of the audience speechless. The contest included four categories: 15-, 15+, PRO and Girls that were definitely not ashamed of the boys.

After 4 pm came the moment that everyone was eagerly waiting for - the announcement of the collection result. It was very emotional experience and emotion could be seen in the faces of the recipients, organizers and spectators. The 10th Charity Jam managed to collect an incredible 460 010 CZK plus another 60 000 CZK from the organizers of the charity event Charity Day, which takes place in Těšany near Brno and 13 000 CZK for a BMX bike donated to the auction by Alex Rovný from TBB Brno.

And the rest of the day belonged to the announcement of the results. The 15+ category was won by Daniel Knotek, 15- by Filip Bambas and the girls category by Nikol Přikrylová. Gold from main PRO category took Kieran Reilly followed by second David Janáč and third Kryštof Odehnal. Best Trick went to Scott Hamlin for his double backflip.

The perfect Saturday was closed by packed afterparty with performance of Monster Energy ambassadors DJ Lucky Boy and legendary Slovak rapper Ego.
