Round three of the 2016 CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals took place this past weekend at the Wild Rose MX track, right in the heart of the city of Calgary, Alberta and it was a solid weekend for the Monster Energy Alpinestars Kawasaki team with podium finishes in both the MX1 and MX2 classes.
Coming off second overall last weekend in Nanaimo, Mike Alessi was again in the mix at Calgary, running up at the front all day and finishing second in both motos, for second overall. His strong start to the season has him sitting in second overall in the championship after three rounds.
Vince Friese was also in the running for a podium all day. He grabbed the moto one holeshot, finishing 4-6 for fifth overall on the day.
In his second race with the team, Arizona’s Mark Worth showed plenty of speed, qualifying number one and getting both holeshots in the motos. He would end up finishing 3-4 for his first podium, in third overall and is looking good to keep improving as he gets used to his new team and bike.
The series now moves on to Regina, Saskatchewan next weekend for round four of the series. For more information on the CMRC Canadian Motocross series, visit www.mxnationals.ca
