The newest addition to Monster Energy’s country music family, Dustin Lynch has unveiled a new EP titled “Ridin’ Roads,” our first taste of new material from the artist since 2018’s “Good Girl.” The lead single and title track was initially inspired by a series of social media videos one of his friends posted while driving around playfully in his farm truck. Referring to the somewhat subsequent evolution of the character from his 2017 Billboard Country Airplay No. 1 “Small Town Boy,” Dustin recently explained the story’s continuation to“I have a picture of that guy. I know exactly what he looks like. I know the truck he drives. I know what’s sitting in his console right now and in his cup holder,” he says. “I don’t specifically know that dude, but I have a picture of that guy because I know a lot of them in middle Tennessee. I’m now getting to tour all over the place and I realize that those guys -- the small town boys -- are all over the world.”

Dustin continues “It’s a song that makes so much sense for me. Writing with intention of what you know. [‘Ridin’ Roads’ is] right down the lane of what this ‘Small Town Boy’ character says and does. This song fits that guy.”

While the imagery was originally provided by his friend’s snapchat story, Dustin and his co-writers actually spent the better part of several months piecing the song together. With the chorus and one verse being previewed privately among friends on the lake, Dustin decided to move forward and finish the song towards the end of summer 2018.

Dustin Lynch is already filling up his 2019 calendar with tour plans, joining country music icon Thomas Rhett on the forthcoming Canadian portion of the “Life Changes” Tour in April, as well as direct support to Rhett on the Very Hot Summer Tour in May. Lynch has also hinted that new music is on the way with his fourth studio album expected later this year: “This is one that’s gonna kick off the next chapter of music.”
