Monster Energy congratulates Emma Dahlström, of Sweden, on her second X Games medal, a Bronze in Women’s Ski Big Air. In front of a sold-out crowd in downtown Oslo at Tøyen, the 23-year-old Dahlström and five other female competitors made history and threw down their best tricks in the first-ever X Games Women’s Ski Big Air competition. The massive 70-foot jump is the first scaffolding jump at a X Games event since the 1999 X Games San Francisco, and the construction—led by Stageco Staging—took 13 days, with 45 people involved in the build out. One of the largest Big Air Jumps in X Games history – the top of the in-run is the same height as Oslo City Hall. On her first run, Dahlström fell on her landing. Determined to make the history books of action sports, the sans-poles skier battled back in her second run. She dropped switch into the 150-foot in ramp with notable speed and pluck, which gave her the amplitude she needed to perform a smooth switch 720 with a solid mute grab. Earning a score of 86.00, Dahlström was able to edge out 13-year-old Kelly Sildaru sitting in third and claim a spot on the podium.
