Febvre fit and raring MXGP for title defence

Monster Energy Yamaha MXGP rider and reigning world champion Romain Febvre has endured and enjoyed an exceptional twelve months. Around this time in 2015 the 23 year old Frenchman (recently turned 24) was preparing for a rookie season in the premier class of the FIM Motocross World Championship and coming back from a broken arm and hernia that had disrupted some of his winter preparation for a first term on the YZ450F. Eight Grand Prix wins and thirteen podiums from eighteen rounds including an emphatic and emotional victory at the Motocross of Nations completed the most startling campaign by any athlete in the modern era of MXGP. “I finished in some good positions early on when I knew I was not ready,” he said reflecting on ’15. “So with good preparation and better settings on the bike I knew I could expect more. My confidence started to build and I always seemed to have a good feeling on the bike. Life became much easier.”
