Five Finger Death Punch have been hitting the studio hard, and thanks to a string of studio diary videos, we have a pretty good grasp on where the band is out, along with some teasers of new songs!

What do we know so far? According to the band’s latest social media posts and videos, they’ve again chosen to work with Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Papa Roach, Disturbed, In This Moment) at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, NV. Kevin worked with the group on every previous releases besides “Way Of The Fist” and has truly helped shaped the band’s signature sound.

The song writing and recording process seems to be going very quickly and smoothly. We see a number of fast, heavy and intricate riffing by Bathory in several of the videos, as well as some moody ballad type acoustic and clean guitar riffs.

Even though the guys clearly mean business when delivering this record, there’s always time for shenanigans! From driving some insanely fast and beautiful exotic cars, to joking about banning Zoltan’s military paraphernalia, these guys obviously know how to have a great time on the road and in the studio.

“What will the album sound like?” is probably one of the biggest questions everyone has. Well according to Zoltan…"Holy shit, it's nasty! Nasty riffs; the vocals are great. Kind of like “War Is the Answer, Way of the Fist” a little bit. For some reason, the music is kind of shifting back to that heavier side. I'm really curious to see how this is going to turn out, wow." Judging by the sound of the guitar clips we have heard so far, we can clearly assume he means “nasty” in a good way…this is going to be some heavy sh*t!

We’ve heard a couple of quick clips of Ivan Moody’s vocals in these videos and boy do his vocals sound incredible. You know we can expect the perfect blend of hooks and heaviness in the vocal department. 5FDP fans know the band is on top of their game with this next record and we can’t wait!

This will be 5FDP’s first album without longtime drummer Jeremy Spencer, and the first effort recorded with Charlie “The Engine” Engen who the band have enlisted to help out with drum duties on tour and in the studio.

Speaking to our friends over at, Five Finger Death Punch shed some light on Jeremy’s departure and finding his replacement: "When Jeremy told us that he was thinking about hanging it up—he had gone through a couple of different surgeries and really thought that he wasn't gonna be able to play drums up to his standards—we understood," guitarist Jason Hook explained. "'But the good news is I found a guy,' he said. 'Well, it's this fella on Instagram named Charlie.'"

Fellow lead-guitarist and song-writing wizard Zoltan Bathory added: “He's an unbelievable drummer. The funny thing was that Jeremy kind of found him. But I followed him, so when he said who it is, I'm like, 'Oh yeah, that kid is fucking amazing!' So I already thought about him, so that was pretty cool. So I guess you could say that Jeremy handed down the torch. Almost a fairy tale, without fairies."

If we’re lucky, we just might see a new Five Finger Death Punch record before the end of the year, but worst case scenario, it’ll drop first thing next year just in time for the next round of Monster Energy Festival madness with Worlds Loudest Month! In the meantime, check out the band’s current tour schedule for the rest of 2019 and be on the look-out for new dates being added to the lineup!
