Fourth Supercross crown for irrepressible Soubeyras

Dec 212018

Outside the mid-December French air bit coldly into the fans leaving the stadium and into the Amneville night. Inside the Galaxie d'Amneville facility and one dirtbike racer was feeling the full adrenaline glow of supercross victory.

Suzuki’s Cedric Soubeyras rounded off the popular French national supercross series – the SX Tour – with his third consecutive championship and the fourth of his career to cap 2018 in the best possible way. His achievement was no small feat: French supercross is the most competitive form of the discipline outside of the United States and it is no coincidence that a number of riders, such as Mickael Pichon, David Vuillemin, Christophe Pourcel, Marvin Musquin and Dylan Ferrandis have all managed to thrive in the AMA motorcycle racing behemoth of a series.

Soubeyras is a former Grand Prix motocrosser who has thrived on becoming a supercross specialist in the last few years and is a staple name in the large European indoor evening such as Paris, Geneva and Genoa. The Frenchman proved he still has the ability to write his name near the top of any billing thanks to his fourth crown and seven rounds of wins and consistency.
