Gabriel Fortunato: The New Rookie representing the skateboarding scene in Brazil

May 242017

I STARTED VERY YOUNG. MY BROTHER IS ALSO AN SKATER AND INTRODUCED ME TO THIS SPORT WHEN I WAS 10 YEARS OLD IN BRAZIL.

Lets talk a little about history. Tell us how you got into skateboarding?

I started very young. My brother, who is also a skater in Sao Paolo, introduced me to this sport, when i was 10 years old in Brazil. And from that moment I have not stopped, always trying to improve and learn everything I can.

Where are you from and where are you living now?

I'm from Brazil, I live in Sao Paulo... But i travel a lot to California and Europe for competitions and filming.

there’s no better city than Barcelona with its iconic street spots

Is it your first time here in SLS?

Yes, it's my first time here at Street League, but not my first time in Barcelona; I was here filming a new video a few months ago.

What you loved about Barcelona so far?

A lot of cool spots here for sure, and the long flats.. the weather and the shores reminds me of my country, so I feel at home.

I'M GOING TO BE AT X GAMES THIS YEAR AND HOPEFULLY STREET LEAGUE AGAIN.

Where are your favourite spots in the world?

I’m infatuated with New York City, I love the vibes and the scenes, its pretty cool there. I was there 3 years ago and I hope i can get back. I broke my arm there during my first trip, so for me that city is a challenge.

Do you have any future edits or projects coming up?

Yes, there's a few videos coming in. I'm going to be at X Games this year and hopefully Street League again.

Who are you excited to see in SLS?

My favorite PRO right now is Ishod, he has incredible style and i really learn a lot when i see him competing.
