Honda show off 2018 Dakar colours as countdown begins

Nov 082017

Freight-and-crate will be snapped shut this week as rally hopefuls in bike, car, quad and truck categories prepare to haul valuable materials and tested machinery to the depths of South America. The 2018 ‘Dakar’ sets off from Lima, Peru on January 6th and the Monster Energy Honda Team will be one of the strongest and most competitive line-ups from across the divisions attempting the famous two-week and 9000km trek through three countries.

The Japanese count on the same excellent line-up that has already captured notable victories throughout the 2017 calendar. ‘17 Dakar stage winner Joan Barreda will again be one of the pre-race favourites along with FIM Cross Country Rallies title contender Paulo Gonçalves and with chargers like Ricky Brabec, Kevin Benavides and Michael Metge also on the fetching CRF450 Rally.

HRC came close to ending KTM’s fifteen year reign earlier this year and thwarting the Austrians will be among the chief targets in a tough and perilous race come the first days of January.

Check out some of the cool official images from the Honda shoot and before the bikes start the first hours of an epic couple of months on the road.
