Hugo Oliveras, the Monster Energy leader of HO Speed Racing, placed second in the fifth NASCAR Peak Mexico Series, based at Amozoc, Puebla, while his teammates Santiago Tovar and Rubén Pardo finished fifth. and ninth position, respectively.
Hugo Oliveras finished first on the day of qualifying defending his position to start in first place on the grid this Sunday and finally getting the second of the race.
"A second place with which, after the circumstances of the race, we are happy, on lap ten the direction was broken, but we managed to hold on and finish with a podium, the second in a row," the driver said.
In a complicated race, mechanical failures punished the team members. HO Speed Racing in the Poblano circuit, Santiago Tovar and Ruben Pardo making it into the Top Ten.
"The good thing is that we were able to add and enter the Top 5. Unfortunately the children lost in a dirty trick, but the team did a great job, I'm happy but not satisfied," said Tovar.
Finally, Ruben Pardo, whose car also suffered a failure but still topped the Top Ten, said: "I think I had for the podium, but I started with a gasoline failure and that made me lose power, and in less than three laps I lost from the third to the ninth, but to continue working".
The next stop for the Monster Energy riders will be on the sixth date of the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series at the Aguascalientes International Speedway on July 29.
