Ian Hutchinson takes the Superstock win at BSB Snetterton
Isle of man TT legend Ian Hutchinson absolutely dominated this weekend’s BSB Pirelli National Superstock 1000 race, taking the win with over seven seconds lead!
A seriously action packed opening lap saw the safety car deployed and the current series leader crash out at turn two. Hutchy saw the gap and moved into the leas on lap three edging away with a seven second lead as he cross the finish line!
Being his first win in this category since 2009 this was an emotional win for Hutchy. After serious injuries resulting from a crash a Silverstone back in 2010 he had his surgeon in the paddock with him this weekend.
‘My first win on circuits since my accident felt good, having my surgeon who re built my leg there was so special, I’d be lifeless without him!’
Broc Parkes also had his first taste of the BSB paddock this weekend in place of the injured John Hopkins in the Yamaha epay team. Smashing his goal of being inside the top ten fastest times, Parkes managed to get 0.5seconds off the fastest lap.
‘As soon as I hopped on this bike it felt like what I know from Yamaha and I even surprised myself o be doing the times that I was doing. My goal was to be in the top 10 and I didn’t expect to be there so quick. I feel good on the bike so maybe we can change the benchmark a bit but if I can be in the top ten when filling in that would be good!’
We now look forward to Round 6 at Thurxton 22nd – 24th July!
